There were so many different Chevy Big Block V-8 engines produced over such a long period, and with different capacities, that you can do amazing things with these engines. For example, a good way to get more power is to increase the stroke of the crankshaft. To start with you need to know what sort of engine you have – what year and what capacity. You can do this easily enough by looking at the engine number.

The next step that he should takehow to stroke big block Chevy engine is to get a tall block engine of a fairly small capacity to stroke it. Based on one’s big block chevy specs one needs a suitable crankshaft, e.g. 4.25 stroke. In order to precisely measure the crank one needs the right measuring equipment. The next step that a person should take in order to get the best Big Block Race Engines is to find a set of special lightweight forged and balanced connecting rods, but it is important that these are as long as you can get to maintain good breathing and thus maximum power.

The next important item is an inlet manifold. To avoid porosity and get accurate dimensions, Edelbrock Manifolds are generally cast at the ultramodern Edelbrock Aluminum Foundry and is machined on computerized machining centers that are located at its Edelbrock headquarters. These manifolds are designed to give maximum power on the track, but are also a good choice for a high-performance engine for a street car. They are available in various finishes.

If you are looking for quality and durability, you will want to install forged pistons, which have thick crowns which you can get machined to suit the block height. Follow these guidelines and you will end up with a very powerful Chevy V-8.
